Who will you be joining?
You will be part of Group Legal’s international team "Competition, IT, IP (CIP)” which consists of 7 legal experts, with 3 of them focused on Antitrust. Apart from Antitrust, the CIP team covers the legal aspects of strategic transformation topics in AI and Data, and protects the strong Allianz brand worldwide. The CIP team is embedded in Group Legal, which has around 40 lawyers and provides highly specialized, business-oriented legal advice to the Management Board, the Supervisory Board as well as to other departments and subsidiaries of Allianz SE and assumes responsibility for legal matters that require a centralized decision-making process or have groupwide relevance.
Group Legal fosters and supports intensively the legal function and community in the whole Allianz Group which includes international meetings and secondments. Group Legal is located in the headquarters in München-Schwabing, just a stone’s throw from Englischer Garten.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- advise on the full scope of competition law, such as antitrust law (both in the horizontal and in the vertical context, e.g. cooperation agreements with competitors, such as sustainability initiatives, or distribution agreements), internal and external investigations, merger control, foreign subsidies regulation, and last but not least Antitrust Compliance within Allianz Group.
- work independently, take over responsibility and get visibility - always based on and backed by the open communication and trustful cooperation in the CIP team.
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding degree (German State Examinations with a grade "vollbefriedigend" or equivalent foreign qualification);
- Excellent command of English and German language in all forms of communication.
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in the area of Antitrust law (Germany, EU)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and communication skills;
- Pronounced ability to work autonomously and to steer legal workstreams in transactions efficiently and pro-actively within pre-defined parameters;
- Proven team player across different cultures with ability to share skills and knowledge.
